SORRY, we’re closed

SORRY, we’re closed

It is with the deepest regret that as of October 26th, The Bayside Cafe will close its doors. We tried borrowing more money, looking for investors or someone new to take the helm. We’d be thrilled if an animal rights charity would take over and make it a non-profit. So far, none of those options came to fruition. I know this may be a shock to hear, and we are so sorry to the communities who call us home. The vegan community, the live-music community, mutual aid groups, the LGBTQIA+ community, activists, and most of all those who have been with us since the beginning. Six years is a pretty good run for any restaurant. We only wished to be here and grow with you. We have been through so many ups and downs together. Financially, we just haven’t been able to make this home viable. It was with great hope and determination that the new management team believed we could turn things around, but there have been many setbacks. Equipment failures. Building maintenance and compliance issues. Staff shortages. So many things outside of anyone’s control. But primarily it’s been due to slow sales. And we get it. The current economy is tough. Folks are going out less, and spending less on meals. We saw a 30% decline in sales month over month from August. October hasn’t been better. Yes, we had a handful of very successful events, but most have been run at a loss. This week we’ll be using up remaining stock, and have ticketed events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We will be here to celebrate and support the beautiful creative and inspiring experiences you have been able to create in our events hall. Please come down and say hello to us, order some food and grab a drink. Check on IG daily to ensure we are able to open, as some staff have decided to move on ahead of our final day. We will miss the hell out of all of you.

IT ALL HAPPENS HERE

There's always something happening at The Bayside in Everett. From live bands and punk flea markets to art shows and our annual anniversary bash, our diner doubles as a neighborhood gathering spot. Pull up a stool, grab a drink at our full bar, order off the menu and stay for the show.

One of the best vegan places I’ve ever been and I’ve been to a lot! Fast and nice service. The chicken sandwich, bacun burger, curly fries & tots were 10/10. My husband said it’s the best burger he’s had in over a decade. Would recommend to anyone!!

My husband and I have been here about a dozen times and it's been amazing every time. We typically get burgers, wings, and drinks, and it feels like the closest thing to a casual burger joint for meat eaters. Everything we've tried on the menu has been good, the service has always been fast with the food coming out super fresh and hot, and the price is what you'd expect for vegan specialty items. We take non-vegans here as often as we can, and so far everyone has loved it. The decor itself is kitschy and weird and perfect. This isn't the place for fancy, organic vegan food; it's where you go to feel like you're at your local (delicious) burger joint.

My wife's Birthday dinner was here. She's a vegan. Her parents joined us and are very traditional carnivores with a sceptical view on vegan food. To their surprise they found the meal very appetizing and cleaned their plates. The burgers we absolutely delicious, esp the ones with the pho bacun and cheeese. Curly fries are the bomb. The plate of Nachos went down without hestitation, the cheese on it was considered to be 'very good' for not being 'real' cheese. The service was prompt and courteous. I would absolutely return in the future.

The pickle chips are delicious! I got the fish less sandwich. It fell apart but was super good. They also had a pastry case full of treats so I had to stock up before I left. The doughnuts are SO good. The atmosphere was like a little diner and we had the place to ourselves!

Went there for a show Friday night. I actually got to hop on the open decks and play from 8-9pm. Freaking awesome. Nathan runs a tight ship over there. We dialed in the house sound and it was banging for the rest of the night. 10/10 good people, good music.
